Recap: Indie Week 2015

Posted on Jun 30, 2015

After four jam packed days of meetings and panels, the tenth annual A2IM Indie Week has come to a close. The most renowned independent music companies from all across the world convened in NYC to share ideas and set plans for the future of the music industry. We are eminently grateful for the opportunity to meet so many hardworking, committed, and forward-thinking professionals.

The biggest thank you of all goes to the American Association of Independent Music for working tirelessly to put the whole event together and make sure it went off without a hitch. They did a truly phenomenal job of organizing an event that was productive for everyone involved. We are more and more impressed every year.

On a final note, we want to give a huge congratulations to our clients Mass Appeal Records and Daptone Records for bringing home major honors at the Libera Awards. Run the Jewels and the Mass Appeal team won the “Marketing Genius” and “Groundbreaking Album of the Year” awards. They deserve every accolade for their dedication to originality and honesty in their art.  The perennial Daptone showstoppers Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings were crowned “Hardest Working Artist of the Year.”  It is great to see Jones being recognized for how quickly and strongly she bounced back from her bout with cancer just two years ago.

Congratulations to all the Libera Award winners, and thank you to everyone involved. We hope to see you there next year!
