In a recent article in the NY Observer, Brooklyn-based tech writer Brady Dale breaks down the pros and cons of companies taking venture capital. Whilst founders chasing large funding rounds can sometimes seem like the norm, an increasing number of tech companies are choosing to bypass funding after creating steady revenue without any external backing — this is known as bootstrapping. AudioSalad was featured as an example of a successfully bootstrapped company, alongside several other New York City startups.
